GlideCue needs Microphone permission to hear you and Speech Recognition permission to turn your speech into words it can match with your script. Both prompts appear the first time you use Voice mode. Auto and Manual modes do not need either permission.

Yes, when Apple’s offline Dictation model is installed for your script’s language. If it is unavailable, GlideCue asks before that language can send microphone audio to Apple’s speech service. Choose Use Apple Speech Service or Use Auto Instead. Saved approvals can be revoked in Settings → Voice & Audio.

Keep Out of Recordings asks macOS to exclude GlideCue’s windows from software capture, but it is a best-effort compatibility feature—not a security boundary or universal guarantee. On macOS 26.5.2 it has been verified with macOS screenshots, QuickTime Player 10.5, FaceTime 36 Entire Screen, OBS 32.1.2 macOS Screen Capture targeting Display, and Google Meet Entire Screen. Other source types, hardware capture devices, recorders, and OS versions may include the window. Always make a short test with your exact setup.

Manual, Auto, Voice Follow, layouts, Follow Cursor, and capture compatibility are free. The free library stores up to 3 scripts of 500 characters each. GlideCue Pro is a $9.99 US one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited scripts and script length; regional prices are set by the App Store.

Scripts and rehearsal history are stored locally inside GlideCue’s sandbox container on your Mac. There is no SynapseCore account or cloud sync. Delete a script from its Library menu to remove it and its history, or remove GlideCue’s container data to erase the whole local library. Exported text files remain where you saved them.

Select text in the Library editor and choose Emphasis, Pause, Direction, or Section. Cues remain visible in the prompter but are excluded from voice tracking, so GlideCue follows only the words you plan to say.

Use the separate controller, the GlideCue menu-bar menu, or global hotkeys. The default Play/Pause shortcut is Control–Option–Space. Global hotkeys do not require Accessibility permission.
